Deb Barnard M.B.E.

Deb has extensive, early career experience working within the UK creative and third sector industries combining artistic practice with arts/business management at Senior Executive level.
As Director of Relational Dynamics 1st Ltd (established in 2009), she currently works as a Trainer, Supervisor & Coach and, since more recently, as a person centred therapist. She specialises in relational dynamics, personal development and leadership and is regularly commissioned to design bespoke and creative ‘learning journeys’ for organisations, nationally and internationally.
Most of her international work has been with NGO’s; e.g. Ruwwad, the Youth Empowerment Programme for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt & Palestine, LOYAC; a young people’s leadership initiative in Kuwait and LASeR the Lebanese Assoc. for Scientific Research based in Tripoli, Lebanon. Clients in the UK range from Santander Bank to the Royal Opera House, the Young Women’s Trust, the British Psychological Society and also working at a grassroots level locally (Lancaster, UK) as a therapist. She is also a volunteer therapist for the NHS support initiative - Frontline19.
She achieved full membership with the Association for Coaching (AC) in 2005, is a BBC Accredited Coach and was shortlisted for the ‘Award for Influence’ at AC in 2010. In 2005, she was awarded an M.B.E for her ‘services to young people’.
Deb holds a B.Ed (Hons) with a specialism in Child Psychology and also holds diplomas in Cognitive Behavioural Psychology (2016), Grief and Bereavement Counselling (2018), Person-Centred Counselling (2019), Suicide & Self-harm Prevention (2022), Understanding Autism (2023) and a Pg.Dip in Counselling & Psychotherapy (University of Cumbria - 2019/21).

This workshop was first delivered for You Make It, an empowerment programme for young unemployed women from Black and Asian backgrounds building confidence, skills, networks, knowledge, and experiences needed to realise their passions and pursue their goals.
