Fiona specialises in poetry, life story, and improvisational writing. She researches and teaches writing as a way to understand, communicate, play, and live better.
Alongside her academic work at Metanoia Institute she has extensive experience with diverse groups using arts practices to expand perspectives and combat stigma around health and illness, and to engage and connect people with each other and their creative expression.
Her recent publications include personal and poetic perspectives on environments in Axon: Creative Explorations (2019) and Cornerstones (2018) and a play Dancing on the Rusty Brown Carpet (2020) about the healing power of dance and music.
