Onajite Clarke
The Counselling Corner Space
Onajite Clarke is a therapeutic counsellor with a strong interest in inclusive and reflective therapeutic practice, particularly in relation to race, identity, and neurodivergence. Her work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience, which informs her commitment to creating therapeutic spaces where individuals feel seen, understood, and respected in the fullness of their identity.
As a neurodivergent practitioner, she brings a perspective that recognises how difference, identity, and lived experience shape the counselling relationship. She is particularly interested in how race, neurodivergence, culture, and social context intersect within therapeutic and educational spaces, and how these factors influence the lives and experiences of not only clients, but also students, practitioners, and educators alike.
Alongside her clinical interests, Onajite is passionate about widening access to therapy for communities who may face barriers to support. Her work includes offering affordable counselling for groups such as parents of children with special educational needs (SEN), neurodivergent individuals, victims and survivors of domestic abuse, students, and those on low incomes.
She brings over 15 years of experience working across the public sector, in roles spanning the civil service, housing, education, teaching, social work, and therapeutic counselling. These experiences have provided her with a broad understanding of the social systems that shape people's lives.
She aims to contribute to conversations within counselling that encourage deeper reflection, inclusivity, and awareness of how identity and social context influence therapeutic practice.
